Chairman

Dr. Sterling Frost, O.R.T.T., DBA, MBA, FCG, Acc. Dir., Professor of Practice – Management Studies is a senior international management executive with a global mindset who has successfully blended academia with the corporate sector over the last four decades. He has a proven track record of achievement in leading complex and large organisations across multiple geographies and sectors in North America, Latin America and the Caribbean region. Dr. Frost was appointed to the Board of Angostura Holdings Limited and its subsidiaries (Angostura Limited and Trinidad Distillers Limited) in January 2022. In March 2024, he became the founding Chairman of the Angostura Foundation.

 

He is committed to advancing optimal national development through his contribution to various government, academic and civil society organisations. He is the Chairman of University of the West Indies (UWI) Faculty of Social Sciences Advisory Board, The UWI Institute for Gender and Development Studies External Advisory Board, The UWI Development and Endowment Fund, The UWI Global Institute for Climate-Smart and Resilient Development Advisory Board and Director of The UWI Mona School of Business and Management. He also serves as the Chairman of The Foundation for the Enhancement and Enrichment of Life (FEEL), Deputy Chair of the Statutory Authorities Service Commission of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago and as an Assessor/Advisor to the Industrial Court of Trinidad and Tobago. In addition, he has served as the founding Chairman of the First Citizens Foundation, Chairman of the Lydian Singers and Deputy Chairman of the Public Service Commission.

 

Professor Frost has consistently been committed to the transfer of knowledge and strategies for change that builds efficiencies across several sectors through his teaching contributions at The UWI since 2002 to present. He is the First Examiner and Adjunct senior lecturer at The UWI – Arthur Lok Jack Global School of Business, the Faculty of Social Sciences, Department of Management and Department of Political Science, for several courses in both the undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. He specializes in the areas of Organizational Behaviour and Development, Human Resource Management, Strategic Planning, Strategic Leadership, Strategic Performance Management and Change Management.

 

He is the former Group Deputy Chief Executive Officer – Operations and Administration of the First Citizens Group. His past and present directorships span the Financial Services, Utilities, Manufacturing, Academia and Public Sectors across Trinidad and Tobago, Panama, Nicaragua, Honduras, St Lucia, Jamaica and Barbados.

 

Professor of Practice Dr. Sterling Frost is the Honorary Consul for the Republic of Costa Rica to the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago.
