Angostura’s latest community initiative for its fenceline of Laventille/Morvant is aimed at providing educational support for students entering secondary school in the new academic year in September.
The seventeen (17) primary schools from Angostura’s community each identified their top two Secondary Entrance Assessment students to be recognised by the Company. As part of our ongoing commitment to the development and well-being of our fenceline community, we gave each of the selected students a $1,200 book voucher and a Jansport schoolbag filled with stationery items such as notebooks, geometry set, scientific calculator, file pages and folders, pens, pencils, poster paint, paint brushes, sketch pad, markers, coloured pencils, pencil case and graph book.
Chairman of The Angostura Foundation, Professor of Practice Dr Sterling Frost O.R.T.T. explained the significance of this latest support, “This top SEA student award is an outstanding example of our dedication to our neighbours in our community of Laventille/Morvant. By prioritising education through initiatives like this one, we aim to celebrate and recognise academic excellence.”
Angostura’s Chief Operating Officer, Mr Ian Forbes told the students, “This occasion is not merely a recognition of an academic milestone but a celebration of your journey from one chapter to the next, as you prepare to embark on your adventure into secondary school.”
Principals from the schools commended Angostura® for its continuous support. Principal (Ag.) of Hokett Baptist Primary school, Ms Petra Bompart expressed her appreciation, “Angostura’s proactive and collaborative approach has made a profound impact on schools in the community. Their team meets with us face to face to understand our specific needs and works tirelessly to address them. No request is too insignificant or too ambitious for them.”
“Angostura continues to be a leading partner in the school community. Through many initiatives, they have positively impacted the educational and socio-cultural landscape in schools in the fenceline community. Highly successful undertakings included sports days, awareness of bullying through dramatisation and storytelling,” said Principal, Mr. Carel Lewis of Laventille Boys Primary school.
Principal of St. Dominic’s R.C. school, Ms. Nathalie Faria stated, “It is a comforting thought to know that Angostura® supports the educational goals of the schools in the community. They have become an integral part of our fabric as a key stakeholder.”
This annual top SEA student award by Angostura® is designed to provide students with the tools they need to excel in their studies and inspire them to pursue their educational goals with confidence.
