Port of Spain, Trinidad. May 1st, 2024: This year is a historic one for the House of Angostura as we are celebrating our 200th anniversary. As part of commemorating this extraordinary milestone, we hosted our 7th biennial Global Distributors Forum in our home country, Trinidad and Tobago, where our bitters and rums are produced. The Forum was held at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in April 2024 where over seventy (70) distributors representing thirty-six (36) countries were present. These included Antigua, Australia, Austria, Baltics & Poland, Barbados, Belgium, Brazil, Bulgaria, Chile, Cyprus, Denmark, Dominica, France, Georgia, Germany, Greece, Grenada, Guyana, Italy, Jamaica, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand, Norway, Peru, South Africa, Spain, St Lucia, St Maarten, Suriname, Sweden, Switzerland, UK, Ukraine, Uruguay, and USA.
Angostura’s distributors play an integral role in our global expansion drive where our products are available in over one hundred and seventy (170) countries. We are proud that our products can be found in major continents such as North America, Europe, South America, Africa and Asia. As a world market leader for Bitters and one of the Caribbean’s leading rum producers, we continue to share our innovative creations with the world.
Hosting the Forum in Trinidad and Tobago provided a unique opportunity for our global network of distributors to see firsthand our production facility. The distributors joined the Angostura® team for a rum immersion at our distillery where they got an opportunity to taste the rums directly from the casks.
Over the course of five days, our distributors from around the globe were treated to experiences that combined business insights with the beauty of our country from the serene beaches to vibrant cultural events and the rich culinary traditions with highlights of our popular Carnival through costume and character depictions. The distributors were able to unwind and explore the island’s wonders in Tobago such as the famous Nylon Pool and Pigeon Point Beach. The Angostura® team was thrilled to have hosted our international distributors in such a spectacular setting and on a special year for the Company.
The theme of the Forum, this year, was “Celebrating 200 years” with a focus on further strategizing for the future, exploring new innovative ideas, discussing best practices and consumer insights. This allowed for strengthened partnerships and reaffirmed our commitments to our global partners. The sessions at the Forum encompassed topics such as boosting brand visibility, implementing creative campaigns, and developing interactive experiences to cultivate meaningful connections with global audiences.
Additionally, discussions revolved around the strategic direction for both the premium rum range and bitters. The Forum provided valuable understanding into market trends, fostering collaboration and exploring further growth opportunities in existing and new markets.
The major highlight as part of our 200-year celebration with the distributors was the unveiling of our 200-year anniversary Limited Edition bitters. It is a tribute to two centuries of unparalleled craftsmanship and flavour mastery. This Limited Edition bitters will be available in the markets soon. For 200 years, this iconic brand has been synonymous with excellence in the world of bitters, elevating cocktails to an art form and enhancing culinary experiences around the globe.
