Port of Spain, Trinidad, 4th July, 2019. From June 23rd to 26th the House of Angostura hosted its 5th biennial Angostura® Global Distributors Forum at W South Beach, Miami. In attendance were thirty distributor markets who represented countries such as Hong Kong, Denmark, Brazil, Latvia, South Africa, Spain, Ukraine, Vietnam, Australia, Malaysia, the Netherlands, the United States and of course, Trinidad and Tobago.
The Chairman, Terrence Bharath, Executive Manager – Corporate Services and Acting Executive Manager – Marketing, Rahim Mohammed and Executive Manager – Regional Sales, Alejandro Santiago, were in attendance. The forum saw an exchange of ideas with our team with a view to further understanding markets and with the ultimate goal of expansion. The agenda was packed with meetings and brain storming sessions running back to back.
The theme for this year’s forum was “New Ways of Working”, and discussions held were based on the topic of new organizational innovation models and the new ways of working. Over the four days presentations were made by some of the well-known and respected experts in the industry, including Phillip Duff, Derek Brown and Miguel Lancha. Through our guest speakers we delved into trends in the industry and the dilemma of catering for real time needs, in a time where required skills are changing faster than the employee basis of most organizations. Best practices were presented by markets that were able to successfully translate the global strategic plans into tactical market plans and executions.
The conference also provided a medium for attendees to share our global strategy and direction for our brands; understand the needs of our distributors; enable more effective management of partnerships; share best practices of top performers and consumer insights and initiate new distributors into the network.
To wrap up the conference we engaged well known mixologist Tom Walker, who presented six cocktails to attendees. These cocktails were a twist to some popular classics using Angostura rums and Angostura® aromatic bitters. The objective was to showcase new modern classics using the House of Angostura’s portfolio of products.
The Chairman, Terrence Bharath, is quoted as having said, “In our thrust for outward expansion and foreign growth, these meetings are integral to our push to expand. I am delighted to have met so many of our Distributors from around the globe and I have, on behalf of Angostura, given my commitment to work closely with our foreign partners as we advance our mutual goal of penetrating more foreign markets. Thank you for this very productive four days”.
