We provided 12 young people with hands-on workplace experience through our 2026 vacation internship programme.

This year’s programme was particularly significant for Angostura as one of the interns is a former beneficiary of the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility initiative, Link to Learn, which was executed in its fenceline community of Morvant/Laventille. Angostura collaborated with the Loveuntil Foundation on the initiative for five years, providing support for students in the community from Form 3 until they completed secondary school. However, Angostura’s support extended beyond secondary school for students who continued to the tertiary level.

One of the students from the Link to Learn programme who pursued tertiary studies joined the company’s vacation internship programme, gaining practical experience in preparation for the world of work.

Ten students participated in the six-week programme that spanned areas across the company including Human Resources, Sales, Marketing, Procurement, Bottling Operations, Finance, Health, Safety and Environment, Quality Management and Office of the Corporate Secretary.

Angostura also partnered with the University of the West Indies to provide two Chemical Engineering undergraduate students with four-week internships giving them the opportunity to apply their academic knowledge within a manufacturing environment.

CEO of Angostura, Mr. Ian Forbes said, “Providing young people with practical work experience is an important investment. At Angostura, our interns are exposed to high standards, expectations and responsibilities, while contributing to projects alongside our teams. They leave the programme with more than experience to add to their resumes. They gained greater confidence and practical skills.”

In Human Resources, interns supported recruitment and onboarding; in Sales, they assisted with sales analytics and planning trade activations and in Marketing they supported the execution of campaigns and administration. Interns in other departments gained insight into supply chain projects, workflow digitisation, accounts payable and financial principles in Finance, corporate governance, legal research and health and safety practices.

Professional development was a key component of the vacation internship programme. Participants received training to help prepare them for employment, along with sessions in cyber security awareness and basic financial principles.

By supporting young people at different stages of their educational and professional development, Angostura is creating opportunities that extend from classroom to career.
