Angostura Chill, a brand of Angostura Limited, has made a significant investment in youth cricket at Blanchisseuse Secondary School through a refurbished cricket practice net and new equipment and uniforms for the school’s cricket teams.

The initiative reflects Angostura’s commitment to advancing youth development through sport and education and creating opportunities for young people to excel both on and off the field.

The refurbishment of the school’s cricket practice net is designed to support training and strengthen the school’s cricket programme. The upgraded area will also benefit cricket teams from neighbouring schools within the wider community.

The investment has contributed to the success of the school’s cricket teams. At the recent Secondary Schools’ Cricket League, the school’s Under-14 Boys team secured third place, while its Senior Boys and Senior Girls teams placed second in their respective divisions.

The company also provided uniforms and equipment in 2025, reflecting its ongoing commitment to the development of cricket at the school.

The refurbished practice area was officially unveiled during a ceremony held on June 30 at Blanchisseuse Secondary School.

CEO of Angostura, Mr. Ian Forbes, said, “The Angostura Chill refurbished cricket practice net is more than a place to train. It provides an environment where students can develop their abilities while building confidence, working as a team and demonstrating the discipline and leadership qualities needed to succeed both on and beyond the cricket field.”

Principal of Blanchisseuse Secondary School, Mr. Hashim Johnson, said, “We are extremely grateful to Angostura for its unwavering support of our cricket programme. They have consistently believed in our small rural school, providing us with the tools and now the facilities for our students to develop their cricket skills and compete with confidence. This investment from Angostura extends beyond our school, creating opportunities for students from across the North Coast community to also access the refurbished cricket practice net. It is our hope that every young person who benefits in the years to come will be reminded that someone believed in them to invest in their future.”
