Angostura® congratulates the Desperadoes Youth Steel Orchestra in placing 2nd overall in their category at the Junior Panorama Finals 2024. Their selection “Sweet For Days” also copped them the Best Performing Band title in their category. The Company is proud to be a sponsor of the Desperadoes Youth Steel Orchestra and we congratulate the players for their outstanding performance. Their hard work and dedication to continuing our cultural traditions truly paid off!

As one of this country’s oldest companies, and a long-standing champion of Carnival and in particular Panorama, it was only fitting for us to partner with one of the oldest steel bands on such an initiative. Angostura® has a solid history of supporting youth-based initiatives, particularly in its fenceline community of Laventille/Morvant. The Company’s collaboration with Desperadoes assisted with providing uniforms for the players, branding for the band, tuning of the instruments and covering tuition fees.

As we celebrate 200 years of a proud history, Angostura® is pleased to be able to support this opportunity for youths to engage in meaningful, positive and uplifting activities in their community. We are also thrilled that the new ‘Despers’ Pan Theatre resides in what was Angostura’s first home in the 1880s when the Company moved its operations from Venezuela to Trinidad.
