Angostura Foundation launched its first landmark initiative, a Scholarship in the Performing Arts for applicants aged 16 to 25 who are interested in pursuing an undergraduate degree in Dance, Drama or Music. This opens the door for a successful applicant to receive and benefit from world-class education and training. Eligibility is restricted to citizens of Trinidad and Tobago currently residing in the country. This Scholarship is geared towards assisting a talented young person who does not have the financial means to pursue tertiary education in the Performing Arts. All candidates applying will be subjected to a financial means test.
The Scholarship will allow an individual the opportunity to apply to a selected list of the top North American Performing Arts institutions. It covers full-time tuition fees, school and living expenses and yearly return airfare for an undergraduate programme.
The successful candidate has the option of applying to any of these top institutions: The Juilliard School; New York University Tisch School of the Arts; McGill University; Yale University; University of Southern California; Indiana University; University of North Carolina School of the Arts; Eastman School of Music; The American Academy of Dramatic Arts; Carnegie Mellon University School of Drama; The Ailey School, Fordham University; National Ballet of Canada; Northern Illinois University, Berklee College of Music and Oberlin Conservatory of Music. The criteria for applicants are based according to the requirements of the North American schools.

The establishment of this Scholarship serves to provide a distinct advantage to deserving candidates.”
Applications for The Angostura Foundation Scholarship in the Performing Arts will open on Thursday August 22, 2024, and close on Thursday September 12, 2024.
The selection of the successful candidate will be done by a Talent Evaluation Panel comprised of experts in the Performing Arts. This landmark Scholarship reflects Angostura’s ongoing commitment to fostering creativity and artistic excellence in the country’s youth.
