The Angostura Foundation and Pet Barn Limited collaborated to assist rescued dog – Colours – who was found grieving and waiting for his owner, who died in a tragic hit-and-run accident alongside the Sir Solomon Hochoy highway.

After the accident, Colours stayed by his owner’s trolley on the highway, waiting for his return. Community members and animal lovers, deeply moved by the dog’s heartbreaking story, shared his plight on social media. Animal rescuer Komal Ramcharitar rescued Colours who is now receiving full care at her shelter – Gentle Paws and More Centre for Abandoned Animals.

The Angostura Foundation donated food vouchers to provide essential supplies for his continued health and recovery. Pet Barn Limited contributed pet care items such as dog treats, shampoo, immune supplements, deworming medicine and toys.

This heartwarming initiative provided much-needed support for Colours, whose resilience in the face of loss has touched the hearts of many in the country.

Animals, like us, experience pain, fear, and joy, and they deserve our kindness and compassion. Small acts of kindness, whether it’s providing food or a safe home can make a world of difference in an animal’s life
