In August, The Angostura Foundation launched its first landmark initiative, a Scholarship in the Performing Arts for persons aged 16-25 who are interested in pursuing an undergraduate degree in Dance, Drama or Music. The Scholarship is geared towards assisting a talented young person who does not have the financial means to pursue tertiary education and allows the successful candidate the opportunity to apply to any of the 15 top Performing Arts institutions in North America. The Foundation received numerous applications from persons throughout the country who wish to pursue their dreams in the Performing Arts. In fact, we were heartened by the response and feedback from not only interested parties but also from stakeholders in the industry.

The Foundation is extremely appreciative of the enthusiasm and support of this initiative, and we remain committed to our mission to foster creativity and support the Performing Arts.

Our Talent Evaluation Panel shortlisted the candidates and following due diligence, screening and one-on-one interviews, a recipient for the Scholarship was selected. However, the recipient subsequently declined to accept the Scholarship, a decision that The Angostura Foundation respects.

The Foundation looks forward to relaunching the Scholarship in the Performing Arts in due course and selecting a new recipient.
