Learn more about the nearly 700 species of butterflies that call Trinidad and Tobago its home, as well as other interesting fun facts about these delicate creatures. The tour begins with a short film on the company’s history and its founding father, Dr. Johann Siegert, inventor of Angostura® aromatic bitters and tracks its venture into rum manufacturing.
Go behind the scenes to learn how angostura® aromatic bitters is made.
While much secrecy surrounds the manufacturing of Angostura® aromatic bitters, visitors are given a quick peak into the ‘Bitters Room’, the only place in the world this product is manufactured.
Discover firsthand just what it takes to make the perfect blend of rums.
Learn about the centuries’ old art of coopering and visit our state-of-the-art bottling factory.

The collection boasts an impressive array of 5000 specimens of butterflies, that includes almost 700 local species found in Trinidad and Tobago. It also includes butterfly specimens from many countries around the world, including some very rare and exceptional ones.

The tour concludes with the opportunity to purchase several of our locally manufactured and internationally acclaimed rums from our in house store – Solera Laventille.

The tour includes a visit to our Angostura® Museum, Barcant Butterfly Collection and Angostura® Art Gallery; a tour of our Bitters’ Manufacturing Room – the only place in the world where ANGOSTURA® aromatic bitters is made -, our bottling plant and state-of-the-art rum distillery is also included. See how our rum barrels are made and visit our ‘on-site’ retail shop to make purchases.
